Characterisation of the HER2+ population in the Genomics England cancer dataset

Lay summary

Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) is a protein that controls cell development and is often over-activated in cancer to sustain growth and drive disease. HER2 has been heavily researched in specific cancers, such as breast cancer, however little is known about the outcomes of other patients in different disease settings whose cancers similarly use the HER2 protein to drive disease. We will analyse the HER2+ population in Genomics England’s pan-cancer dataset to understand outcomes for patients across the spectrum of cancers and the therapies that they were given to better understand this population in the real-world setting.
